Magic Kingdom bear sighting prompts closure

THIS MORNING WHEN FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE TOOK OFF VENDORS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD. IT’S A BEAR. PARTS OF THE MAGIC KINGDOM WERE OFF-LIMITS TO GUESTS AS THE FWC SEARCHED FOR THE BEAR AND FINALLY CAPTURED IT. THIS ALL DEVELOPED ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE PARK, NOT TOO FAR FROM THUNDER MOUNTAIN ROLLER WEST TUESDAY. MCDANIEL IS LIVE AT DISNEY WITH HOW IT ALL TURNED OUT. CHOPPER 2 WAS AHEAD AS FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE EXPERTS SEARCHED FOR THE BEAR. WALT DISNEY WORLD FIRST CAN CONFIRM THAT THE BEAR WAS IN A TREE ON DISNEY PROPERTY AND VISITORS USING THE APP SAW SOME AREAS UNACCESSIBLE AND OTHERS WHICH WERE OPEN. BUT WITH SIGNIFICANT WAITING TIMES. WELL AFTER THE PARK OPENED, DISNEY LATER SAID A LITTLE BEFORE TEN AM THAT AFTER CONSULTING WITH GOVERNMENT EXPERTS, IT WAS RE-OPENING FRONTIER LAND, LIBERTY SQUARE AND ADVENTURE LAND AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM. THIS EXCLUSIVE VIDEO OF THE BEAR PERFORMING WAS TAKEN IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON SCHOPPER DUDE. FWC SAYS ADULT WOMAN WAS CHEMICALLY IMMOBILIZED. FOR STAFF TO TAKE HER SAFELY BEFORE MOVING. ADRIAN. State wildlife officials successfully captured the bear after it caused a bit of a disturbance at the Magic Kingdom early Monday morning. Chopper 2 was overhead as Fish and Wildlife experts searched for the bear. Below: Exclusive WESH 2 footage shows the bear being taken away. Walt Disney World first confirmed the bear was in a tree on Disney property, and visitors using the park’s app saw some areas unavailable and others that were open had significant wait times just after the park opened. Disney later said shortly before 10 a.m. that it had reopened Frontierland, Liberty Square and Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom after consulting with state experts. Chopper 2 was able to obtain exclusive video of the bear, which was conducted in the early afternoon. The FWC said the adult bear was “chemically immobilized so that personnel could safely capture her prior to relocation.” We’re told she was captured in the Ocala National Forest area. In most cases, when bears wander into neighborhoods or areas not considered more natural habitat, they are given the space needed to roam safely, but the FWC wrote, “Given this situation, staff captured the animal and relocated the bear outside. from the park.” The FWC says the bear was likely foraging when it ended up on Disney property.
