Perrin is not included Pokemon Scarlet and violet – Teal Mask‘s main plot, but she’s one of the most compelling characters in the DLC. She is a photographer visiting the Kitakami region and bears a striking resemblance to Adaman from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Since she’s apparently a descendant of a character from the game, it’s only fitting that her quest leads you to a new form of Pokémon that hails from the game’s historical era: Ursaluna.
If you talk to Perrin in Mossui Town, she will ask you to take a picture of you and introduce you to her Growlithe. It is noteworthy that hers is a Hisuian regional variant, which is supposed to be extinct. It is strange. It will also ask if you can fill your Kitakami Pokedex with up to 150 known Pokemon. Depending on how many Pokémon you caught in the base game, you may already have up to 100 of these records filled out, which will save you a lot of time when completing this quest.
What’s the best way to catch a lot of Pokemon fast?
Moving forward with Perrin’s story is pretty self-explanatory. You will have to run around Kitakami and catch as many Pokemon as possible until you come across 150 different species. Wild Pokémon in this area tend to be around level 60, so unless you have a team of at least a comparable level that won’t risk taking out wild Pokémon in one hit, see if you have a Pokémon that can learn False. A Swipe guaranteed to leave at least 1 HP on your enemy. To further increase your chances of capturing a weakened Pokémon, try using non-damaging status attacks like Thunder Wave or Sleep Powder, as these will make it difficult for your opponent to break out of the Pokéball without risking knocking it out.
One thing also worth noting is that some dex items can be filled with evolving Pokemon rather than catching them. For example, if you caught a Poochyena, you can simply level it up and evolve into a Mightyen, which is two dex entries for the cost of one Pokéball. Since most Pokémon in Kitakami are fairly high level, one level gained should be enough to evolve them if that is their evolution method. Using Rare Candy or Exp. The candies you could get as raid rewards can speed up the process if you don’t want to fight.
Another useful tool to have is a bunch of fastballs before you go hunting. These Pokéballs are more effective if used early in the battle, so it’s perfectly viable to use them without attacking a potential catch. Be sure to stock up on Ultra Balls if they don’t work, but using a Quick Ball right off the bat can take a lot of time, and since you’ll be catching anywhere from 50-150 Pokemon, it can take a while.
Can I catch Bloodmoon Ursaluna now?
Not so fast, eager McBidoof. Now that you’ve captured 150 Pokémon in Kitakami, you’ll begin the next part of the quest to find Ursaluna’s new form. Perrin asks you to watch her while you both take pictures of some of the Pokémon in the region, and shows you some spooky pictures of Bloodmoon Ursaluna until she finally reveals herself, allowing you to capture her and add her to your team. .
But what makes this new form special? Bloodmoon Ursaluna is pretty much the opposite of the standard form of the Pokémon introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus in that it’s meant for special attacks instead of physical ones. It has a signature move aptly named Blood Moon that has a whopping 140 base power and 100 accuracy rating. However, it cannot be used twice in a row. So don’t expect to be able to just spam him until he wipes out the enemy team.
The most ridiculous part of his build is the Mind’s Eye ability. It allows Ursaluna to ignore the opponent’s evasion changes, making moves like Double Team essentially invalid against her. Its accuracy can’t be lowered either, and it can hit ghost-type pokemon with normal and fighting-type moves, which usually don’t affect ghostly ghosts. Pokemon world.
So yeah, the guy is pretty busy, but it’s a good thing such a involved quest has a big reward at the end. It remains to be seen how Bloodmoon Ursaluna will affect the competitive meta, as this thing sounds like it would be a ridiculous addition to any team.
