Russell Brand’s latest tour dates have been postponed after the Metropolitan Police received a report of an alleged sexual assault in Soho in 2003 following a series of allegations made against the comedian.

With three more venues to perform in September, a statement from promoters Brand’s Bipolarisation show on Monday said: “We’re postponing these few remaining addiction charity shows, we hate to do it – but we know you’ll understand. .”

Meanwhile, a Met spokesman confirmed officers were “in contact” with a woman who reported an alleged sexual assault to the force on Sunday after Brand was accused of raping, sexually assaulting and emotionally abusing four women between 2006 and 2013.

This comes as Katy Perry’s comments about the circumstances surrounding her split from Brand have resurfaced. The 38-year-old previously revealed her ex-husband called out their relationship via text and described instances where he was “very controlling” during their relationship.

Since the publication of their joint investigation with Channel 4’s Dispatches on Saturday, Times and The Sunday Times he claimed that several other women had come forward with allegations against Brando and that those allegations were now being “heavily scrutinized”.

The BBC and Channel 4 pledged to investigate the claims about the former presenter, while Channel 4 removed all programs associated with Brand from its website.

The comedian vehemently denied the “very serious criminal allegations” and said his relationships were “absolutely always consensual”. His father, Ron Brand, also came to his defense, describing the allegations as a “vendetta”.
