Taylor Swift went out to dinner with a number of her A-list friends at the Italian restaurant Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria in New York on Monday.
The Bad Blood hitmaker, 33, was joined by Barbie director Greta Gerwig, 40, after fans recently joked that women “saved the American economy” – Greta with her billion-dollar film and Swift with her record-breaking Eras tour.
The ladies also dined with Laura Dern, 56, who starred in Swift’s Bejeweled music video, and Batman star Zoe Kravitz, 34.
Swift looked stylish for the night, wearing a black mini dress with knee-high Christian Louboutin boots.
The singer completed the look with a checkered gray coat and a black handbag.
Swift wore her blonde locks in a sleek bun for the night.
She accented her look with red lipstick and accessorized with dangling earrings and a gold necklace.
Gerwig, meanwhile, wore a flowy black dress with matching loafers. She teamed the look with a stylish light pink Gucci crossbody bag.
The Lady Bird director wore her blonde bob styled in light waves.
Dern was casually cool in a denim jacket over a red turtleneck. The actress wore black pants and white sneakers for the night.
She accessorized her look with a gold chain necklace and chunky gold ring. Her blonde hair was pulled back and slightly curled.
Zoe was fashionable in a mint trench coat, which she teamed with oversized trousers.
The daughter of rock star Lenny Kravitz wore a navy baseball hat over her black locks and carried a large cream handbag over her shoulder.
Dern and Kravitz hugged each other goodbye after the successful dinner.
After the success of Swift’s ongoing tour and Gerwig’s hit movie Barbie, the ladies certainly had plenty to talk about over dinner.
Some Swift fans claimed the singer had stopped the US from falling into recession after The Eras Tour was projected to generate nearly $5 billion in consumer spending.
“If Taylor Swift were an economy, she’d be bigger than 50 countries,” Dan Fleetwood, president of QuestionPro Research and Insights, said in a story for GlobalNewsWire.
Meanwhile, Gerwig’s Barbie surpassed Marvel’s The Avengers as the 11th highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office with $626.1 million.
Barbie also took in $1.416 billion at the worldwide box office, good for 14th place globally.
While the foursome could discuss their impact on the US economy, they could also reminisce about the time Dern starred in one of Swift’s videos.
The Oscar winner even previously recalled how a young fan recognized her from the Bejeweled video, and not from her iconic role in Jurassic Park.
In January, she shared a hilarious anecdote on Jimmy Kimmel Live, recalling being at her friend’s farm on Oahu, where she filmed the original Jurassic Park (1993).
“I was walking out of their farm and there’s a guided tour of ‘Jurassic Park landmarks’ with a little sign that says, ‘Welcome to Jurassic Park.’ group of people.”
‘This girl runs up to me and says, “Oh, my God! Oh, my God!” I was just like… “I just want to be with my family, let’s not do the whole Jurassic Park (thing),” the star said.
“She’s like, ‘Aren’t you the girl in the Taylor Swift video?'” Dern called the experience “amazing.”
She also raved about working with Swift, who directed the video and played Cinderella, alongside Dern, who was the evil stepmother, and the Haim sisters as stepsisters.
” Taylor asked me and it sounded like an incredible time. And I was amazed at what a great filmmaker she was, how prepared she was, how improvisational and fun it was. I had the time of my life. So it was amazing.’
Swift also raved about Dern earlier, calling her “the most awesome” for agreeing to star in the video.
The singer joked that she got Dern to appear in the video when she told her she had written a script for one scene where the actress could call her a ‘tired, tacky girl’ during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October. .
“And she’s like, ‘I’m down,'” Swift shared, adding, “She’s the best, she’s so funny.”
